A website everyone can use.

Blue Poppy Sites LLC wants everyone to be able to use our website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive tools. Accessibility is part of how we design every site, starting with our own.

The short version

  • We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
  • We build with clear structure, readable contrast, keyboard access and reduced motion settings in mind.
  • If anything gets in your way, tell us and we'll fix it or help you another way.

The standard we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities, and following them makes a site better for everyone.

What we've done

  • Headings, landmarks and labels that screen readers can follow
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Every link, button and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
  • Text and background colors chosen for readable contrast
  • Form fields with clear labels and error messages that say what to fix
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, our animations calm down or switch off
  • Pages that work when zoomed in and on small screens

Known limitations

We test our pages, but no website is perfect, and we're still improving. The animated 3D flower on our homepage is decorative and isn't needed to use the site. The concept sites in our portfolio are design samples; we build them with accessibility in mind, but they may not meet every part of the standard.
