Home / How we work

Good yards take a plan and a crew that shows up.

We’re a small landscaping company in Richmond. We design, build and look after outdoor spaces for people who want to spend more time outside.

From first call to finished yard

How a project goes.

Five steps, the same every time. You always know what’s next and who to call.

1First call

We listen first.

A short call to hear what you want and what bugs you about the yard now. We’ll book a visit at a time you can be there.

  • Takes about 15 minutes
  • Photos help, but aren’t needed
  • We’ll tell you if it isn’t work we do

2Site visit

We walk it together.

We measure, take photos, check the slope and the soil, and talk about how you use the space on a normal Saturday.

  • About an hour on site
  • Sun, shade and drainage noted
  • Ideas sketched while we’re there

3The plan

You see it on paper.

A scaled drawing and a written estimate, broken down by area. Change what you like. Build it all now, or in phases.

  • Scaled plan drawing
  • Planting plan and materials
  • Clear estimate with no surprises

4The build

Our crew builds it.

You’ll know the start date and who is coming. We keep the site tidy every evening and walk you through the finished work.

  • One crew lead as your contact
  • Tidy site at the end of each day
  • Final walk-through together

5After

We keep it looking good.

An optional care plan, run by the same people. Mowing, cleanups, pruning and checks on the irrigation and lights.

  • Weekly, biweekly or seasonal
  • Pause or change it any time
  • Same crew each visit

What we care about

The way we like to work.

Three things we hold ourselves to on every job, big or small.

Plan before we dig

A drawing saves money and surprises. It’s much cheaper to move a patio on paper than in the ground.

Right plant, right place

We choose plants that like your soil and your light, with plenty of natives. Less watering, fewer replacements.

Straight answers

Clear estimates, real start dates and a crew lead who picks up the phone. If something changes, you hear it from us first.
