Make the work flow without you chasing it.
Most operations problems are not people problems. They are missing steps, extra steps, and handoffs nobody owns. We find them, fix them with your team, and write them down.
The work gets done. It just takes too much of you.
If these sound like a normal week, your processes are carrying less than they should.

The same problems come back every week.
Late orders, missed details, rework. You fix them, and next week they are back.
Work stalls at handoffs.
Sales to operations, operations to billing. Things wait in the gap because nobody owns it.
Only one person knows how it works.
When they are out, the work stops. When they leave, it leaves with them.
You are the escalation path for everything.
Small exceptions climb straight to your desk, because there is no rule for them.
Growth makes everything messier.
Each new customer adds more chaos than profit, and the team is running hot.
Six pieces of practical work.
We pick the ones that matter for your business. Not every engagement needs all six.
Watch the real work
We spend time where the work happens and talk to the people doing it, not just the people managing it.
Map core processes
We draw how work flows from first call to final invoice, including the parts nobody likes to talk about.
Cut the waste
We remove steps, approvals and handoffs that add time but not value. Usually there are more than you think.
Write it down simply
One-page checklists and process maps in the words your team uses. No binders nobody opens.
Fix the handoffs
Clear rules for who passes what to whom, when, and what done looks like at each step.
Set a weekly rhythm
A short weekly meeting and a scorecard, so problems surface early and get solved without you.
From messy to written down, step by step.
The exact shape depends on your business. This is the usual path for an operations engagement.
- 1Start
Discovery call
You tell us where the work gets stuck. We ask a lot of questions and tell you honestly if we can help.
- 2On site
Walk the floor
We watch the real work, interview your team and collect the forms, tools and workarounds they use.
- 3With your team
Map and diagnose
We map your core processes with the people who run them, and mark the waste, gaps and bottlenecks.
- 4Together
Redesign and test
Together we design the simpler version, try it on real work, and adjust until it holds.
- 5Final session
Hand off
Your team owns the processes and the weekly rhythm. We check in afterward to make sure it sticks.
Tools that stay when we leave.
- 01Process maps. Your core workflows, drawn clearly, with an owner for each step.
- 02Checklists. One page per key task, so anyone trained can do it right.
- 03Handoff rules. Who passes what to whom, and what done means.
- 04Weekly scorecard. A few numbers that show if the work is flowing.
A made-up example of how this work can look: a growing distributor where every order exception goes to the owner.
The situation
Orders that do not fit the usual pattern wait for the owner to approve them. Customers wait. The warehouse waits. The owner spends evenings clearing the queue.
What we would do
Map the order flow with sales and the warehouse. Sort exceptions into types. Write a clear rule for each, and give a named lead the authority to decide.
What they would keep
An order process map, an exceptions checklist, a handoff rule between sales and the warehouse, and a short weekly review of anything that still escalates.
Illustrative only. This is not a real client, and no results are implied.
Fair questions.
Do we need special software for this?
No. We start with the tools you already use. If a tool is part of the problem, we will say so, but most fixes are about clear steps and clear owners, not new software.
Will this disrupt my team's daily work?
We work around your schedule and keep sessions short. Most of our time is spent watching normal work and talking with people one on one or in small groups.
How involved do I need to be?
Very involved at the start and at key decisions, much less in between. The goal is to move the work off your plate, so we lean on your team as early as we can.
Do you work with businesses outside Grand Rapids?
Yes. We work with clients in person and remotely. Walking the floor works best in person, and we plan visits around that.
What if we only need help with one process?
That is a fine place to start. Fixing one painful process well often shows the team what good looks like, and makes the next one easier.
Show us where it gets stuck.
- Book a discovery call. Pick a time that suits you.
- Walk us through a normal week. Where does work wait?
- Leave with a next step. Whether or not we work together.
